May 8 Face of the Day: Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson Courtesy Robin Spitznagle Chris Anderson is the newly appointed director of environmental services at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Anderson’s philosophy is “everything happens for a reason,” and that is how he describes his career path and how he came to be a part of the Jennie family.

Anderson was a member of the ROTC in high school with plans to join the Navy following graduation. During his medical exam, it was discovered that Anderson was in kidney failure. He spent 15 years taking dialysis before getting a kidney transplant.

During his many trips to the hospital, Anderson became interested in pursuing a career as a radiology tech — but life had other plans.

Anderson is the proud father of eight and spent several years working in retail before joining Omaha Parks and Recreation. Five years ago, still thinking about that radiology tech career, Anderson started in housekeeping at Jennie Edmundson “to get his foot in the door.”

That’s when his new career started.

“I didn’t realize how meaningful it would be for me to provide this service to Jennie’s patients.”

Anderson is very proud of the team he supervises and hopes to make decisions that have a positive effect on the hospital for years to come.
